Quite simply Level 2 ASP work connects your meter board with your electricity supplier’s power lines. It is highly dangerous work and requires specialised skills. Typically you will need a Level 2 ASP in a number of key areas:
- Meter (including solar) installation, upgrades, relocation and repairs
- Three phase upgrade including air-conditioning
- Temporary builder supply for new houses
- Private Pole replacement
- Service and Supply upgrades including service and consumer mains
There are 4 categories of Level 2 ASP work and at Solmet we are qualified to perform them all.
Category 1
Disconnect & reconnect power supply at point of attachment.
Disconnect and reconnect your overhead or underground service mains at the point of attachment on your wall or underground turret. Typically this is done so that upgrade work can be carried out to your meter box; or for property maintenance work such as tree trimming or renovating the walls that hold your meter board.
Category 2
Underground service lines from Ausgrid or Essential Energy’s network to your private pole or private main switchboard.Install new underground service mains to your new house or renovation from your meter box to the turret or street light column on your boundary.
Replacement of your existing service mains if you need to upgrade them to 3-phase, relocate them or put your existing overhead service mains underground.
Category 3
Overhead service lines from Ausgrid or Essential Energy’s network to private pole or property.
- Install new overhead service mains from the wall of your house or property pole to the energy company’s pole on the network.
- We supply and install temporary builder’s electricity supply.
- Rectify defects issued by Ausgrid or Essential Energy due to damage to your mains meter board in an overhead situation or faulty poles: whether condemned or rotten.
- Repair or replacement of your point of attachment if it corroded or bent due to tree branches falling onto your overhead service line.
Category 4
Install all types of metering up to 100 Amps. Install metering to your new switchboard or the change-over of metering for a renovated switchboard.
We can also install metering for solar power, off peak conversions, or 3-phase upgrades.
